Overview

A vitamin is an organic compound required as a nutrient in tiny amounts by an organism. A compound is called a vitamin when it cannot be synthesized in sufficient quantities by an organism, and must be obtained from the diet. Thus, the term is conditional both on the circumstances and the particular organism. For example, ascorbic acid functions as vitamin C for some animals but not others, and vitamins D and K are required in the human diet only in certain circumstances.

Vitamins are classified by their biological and chemical activity, not their structure. Thus, each "vitamin" actually refers to a number of vitamer compounds, which form a set of distinct chemical compounds that show the biological activity of a particular vitamin. Such a set of chemicals are grouped under an alphabetized vitamin "generic descriptor" title, such as "vitamin A," which (for example) includes retinal, retinol, and many carotenoids. Vitamers are often inter-convertible in the body. The term vitamin does not include other essential nutrients such as dietary minerals, essential fatty acids, or essential amino acids, nor does it encompass the large number of other nutrients that promote health but are otherwise required less often.

Create Margins For Your Health

As a busy professional, you can use your health for granted. People often do that because they think, "I'm okay. Nothing will happen to me." You must realize that your health is that aspect of your life that allows you to create and maintain margins, in other areas.

The concept of margins is that Richard Swenson describes in his many books and is defined as "the space that once existed between us and our borders. There is something in reserve for contingencies or unforeseen situations."

thinking about creating health margins, by using one (or all) of the following:

  1. Get a complete physical.

How are you, where you stand health-wise, if you don 't this step. Call to make the appointment today. If you do not know, a good doctor, then ask one of your friends or colleagues for a recommendation, but no delay in your order. Consider what you risk by waiting.

  2. Once a year, making all important check-up appointments that your doctor has recommended.

You know what annual check-ups, I mean, do not you? There are some that both men and women need - and then there are specific for each gender. Nobody is looking forward to these tests, but they may save your life.

  3. Do not forget your dentist.

If you are planning your various checkups, your dentist, as one of your "must-do medical appointments. It is amazing what health margins can be eliminated, if your dental health is in decline. Have you ever looked at the pictures on your dentist's office? yikes! You do not want your teeth and gums deteriorate - along with the rest of your health, so before you go and see your dentist and hygienist.

  4. Toss old (or unknown) medicines and vitamins.

Take a good look through your medicine cabinet. What items are past their expiration date? Throw everything that has expired. What you have in your cabinet, you do not know? This means that you probably do not have disease, and that more should pitch of the medicine, herbs or supplements. Why do you think something does not need.

  5. Create a list of everything you do take (including allowances).

Go and put this list on your computer so you can print a copy to take to each of your healthcare provider. It makes sense To bring it with you in your planner or PDA. I will always on my list when I donate blood, for example, and it helps speed the process along.

  6. Obtain (and take) a medical alert bracelet, if necessary.

If you are allergic to everything, make sure you wear a medical alert bracelet whenever you go to practice, work or play . Nobody is planning to do this ... but you (and which will help you) might.

  7. monitor all the symptoms you have.

Did you pattern? Only a log in your planner. Surely many people with headaches have been able to notice that the patterns mean that their headaches - and then change the pattern.

  8. Take a multi-vitamin.

It can not hurt. My brother always says that those of us who multi-vitamins are the people who are probably also eating well enough to everything we need. I guess one anyway, and so he says, by the way.

  9. Get enough sleep.

Drowsy driving is a hazard to your health.

  10. look into alternative medicine.

therapeutic massages, acupuncture, chiropractic, and others are considered mainstream, even if alternative medicine and May even by your insurance. Even if they do not, they nevertheless.

The main idea with this list is to recognize that if your health is not there any other areas of your life are affected

Consequently, the need to create margins for your health is of paramount importance.
