Kevin: What about probiotics. I've heard two different camps, that you only want a good quality probiotic and the other is, you have something that actually releases and your small intestine and not in your stomach.
Jonny: Well I will in this, because there are people whose entire career spent feeding on the minutia of probiotics and when to take them and what electricity is most affected and what in the gut. As you know, there's bifida bacteria. There are Lactobacillus. There are a dozen different tribes and various proponents of the various tribes and even some discussion about when is the best time to see it on an empty stomach, at the end of the meal and this kind of stuff. Actually it is not my field. I know that more than anything we want to find a formula, we can believe in and take, and I think it's a good thing to take as a supplement. I think it's a good thing to look for food they by nature. Also fermented foods such as olives in the olive bar in business. The graer health food shops are those who sit outside on the counter. These are naturally fermented, as opposed to little green olives in the chemicals, the meeting in the jars. Of course, fermented foods, naturally fermented soy sauce, these things are rich - and sauerkraut - these are rich in probiotics, which we need, and the other thing is, as well as yeasts are living organisms, they are probiotics and they also require foods and their Food and called prebiotics are also complement, and in foods and those are the things that these little feed probiotics who actually live in your gut when you there. So I think that it's probably worth a whole discussion about probiotics alone, but we leave it to say that it is very important, and they help your occology good and they help you balance your whole internal system that allows you to assimilate and digest nutrients .
Kevin: Great. I want to speak SAMe.
Jonny: Yes.
Kevin: It's something I do not know much about, I will open the floor to speak to you, and explain what it is and how it can help.
Jonny: Well, I have it in my desert island cures (chapter in the most effective Natural Cures on Earth), because again, I think It is such an important addition. Again, this is not for everyone, but because it is not cheap. It is not one of the cheaper supplements and usually people turn on them if they have a certain condition that they can help, and there are a number of them that is very helpful with.
The thing is, some of these open boring biochemistry , But I 'll try to terms, at least will not make your eyes glaze. We have spark plugs in a car. SAMe as spark plugs. In fact, there is a process called methylation, and if you've ever seen a relay race, these guys when they run the relay and they happen to the torch, good, methylation is like the passing of the torch in a relay race. A guy runs and they get to the finish line and he hands the torch to the next guy. The next guy is running and they do this at the opening of the Olympic Games. Well, methylation is like this, and it is like this spark plug passing the torch from molecule to molecule, and it is very important in biochemistry of the body, because he considers the production, and it keeps toxic waste from accumulating. For example, one called homocysteine that you may have heard, that's always a lot of freedom of the press recently, because there is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke, and I speak also in Natural Cures about how to bring homocysteine. It is very easy to do, but this is something that conventional doctors are beginning to note your homocysteine levels. It is a very, very important to say and measure blood. Well, homocysteine is a by-product of the methylation not enough, not enough of this kind of relay race of the spark plug action has not yet been completed. Same is basically a methyl donor. It basically comes and says, this guy does not make it a relay race in time. Here is the torch, a torch especially for you. Here is a torch especially for you. He holds the torch current and reserves the waste product of homocysteine accumulating and always a lot of metabolic processes go smoothly. It has a profound effect on depression. It has a profound effect on arthritis. It has a profound effect on the liver and it has a profound effect on fibromyalgia. These are the four conditions, it's been for them, and there is also considerable research and the same and equal depression and arthritis and some on the same and liver disease and some anecdotes with fibromyalgia, but this whole process methylation, which in turn is so boring and into the depths of the biochemistry that nobody is interested in, and nobody wants to talk about, but basically related to all this is the same contribution to this metabolic process involved is that in reducing pain, depression reduction, liver detoxification and this is the reason why such a useful supplement.
Kevin: We have supplemented the speech this whole time, but there are actually only food. We have no time to talk with four or five, but perhaps you could just pick one that you believe is just a great food. They also have the book, 150 Healthiest Foods in Earth.
Jonny: I would use as reference in the food section.
Kevin:
> Jonny: Let's just throw the book as the I Ching and see where it opens; celery. Four sticks of celery lowers blood pressure.
Kevin: Wow.
Jonny: Four sticks of celery A day will lower blood pressure. Maybe not as strong as a drug, but you add that to some of the other things, for example, that I talk about and again, you have to understand, I think that the thing to take home to Natural Cures and the point That I continue to try to make in the book, the most effective Natural Cures on earth is, of course edicine, food, medicine, medical food, medicine of spirituality, some of the techniques I talked about how reflexology and Things like that they never exist in a vacuum. They are not the model of "Doc, I have a headache. Give me a pill." It goes away. They are not the model. This is not the model that they work in. They work synergistically. They work as if it was a village. It takes a program to heal someone. In the same way, celery, yes, celery lowers blood pressure a few points. Now, if you accept that some magnesium, some fish and a few other things, a few other changes in the diet, you can bring your blood pressure. Maybe a little stress management, perhaps a little meditation, perhaps a little of the deep breathing exercises, that I speak in Natural Cures. Put these things together and suddenly you have a program. Suddenly, you do not need blood pressure medication. It is not that these things by itself to the strong body of a pharmaceutical drug. We can not compete with the stuff. The stuff works immediately. It is fast, but it is a cost for the drugs, a huge cost of these drugs. If I have a view about all of this, is it not, that the anti-medicine. It's just that I think we are better off the drugs as little as we can get away. Not that we should never. Not that it does not save lives, but when I entered the private practice would people come in. I had a very famous composer whose songs are heard nobody would not know. It is a household name. He died recently. He came at the age of 70 years with a crippling gate, trembling and he had a list of medicines he was in was like a whole page with one of these lined yellow pads, the full page.
Kevin: Wow.
Jonny: Each doctor had told him something for blood pressure, but not looked at the stuff he was responsible for cholesterol and cholesterol guy has not saw what he fought for depression, depression and the guy had not looked at the stuff he was to sleep and he was in these 19 different drugs. My position is, if you can not do that it's probably a good thing and not that there are no drugs that save lives and that once we need them, but of course there are things you can do that the body knows how to handle and know what to do with it. Our bodies know what to do with vitamin B12. I'm not so sure that we know what to do with Prozac.
I 'm not sure that we know what to do with a standard drug. You can take advantage, but they are not the things that naturally in our diet. Why not with the stuff, right there in nature, you can pick, or collect, or fish or hunt, or grow and things that are made from these and nutrients from them and perhaps of herbs or supplements, or sometimes through food, or whatever? Why not, and see if you can heal them mustering all these amazing properties of the body to heal and then start there and if you get stuck, you can always medicine.
Kevin: I think that's a big point and I think this is a great way to end this call.
Jonny: Thank you.
Kevin: What I have done with Jonny is if you have a link that you can go and follow and learn more about him and his breathtaking book. As I said, I did on my desktop as a reference, in writing or when I work with people. It is easy to use and a valuable tool to have for all lovers of health or health doctor. I really appreciate you sharing with me here.
Jonny: Oh, it was an absolute pleasure. You are a great interviewer. I hope that the people have gotten something that might inspire them to do something good for your health, as I have for my 20 years old and really, I can not recommend it highly enough. It will change your life.
